Fulfillment
Nippon Express USA's order
fulfillment capabilities are designed to maximize productivity,
improve picking speed and accuracy and help you get
more orders out to the right place at the right time.
The fulfillment process is driven by state-of-the-art
software systems and the latest order picking devices
to include hand-held computers equipped with radio frequency
connections to the main computer, as well as material
handling systems and automated technology to optimize
product flow. Nippon Express USA warehouse workers are
trained to properly handle your specific product.
When orders are placed, the customer wants
to know if the product is available and when it will
be delivered. Nippon Express USA's order fulfillment
solution has complete inventory visibility, a real-time
available-to-promise (ATP) functionality, and sophisticated
business rules that allow you to instantly offer alternative
configurations and substitutions to meet customer delivery
dates. The system's visibility and tracking function
extend to orders, so customers can track the estimated
time of delivery for every order. In most cases, these
functions can be linked into your order processing system,
or customers can be provided with Web access.
Nippon Express USA's order fulfillment
goes well beyond simply picking and shipping product.
Nippon Express USA knows that properly filling the most
complex orders is about growing your business with customer
service that is better than your competitor's. Superior
fulfillment processes help you expanding into new markets
and introduce new products.
Nippon Express USA's order fulfillment

to you and your customers:

and shipments

customer
- Improves customer service levels and responsiveness
- Increases on-time delivery performance
Inventory & Asset Management
Nippon Express USA's warehouse management
system provides useful operating tools for administration
and to monitor inventory levels at each facility. You
can immediately access information about stored goods
the moment they enter the warehouse. Each pallet, carton
or specified unit is scanned when it enters the warehouse.
A separate inventory control sheet (ICS) is generated
for each of these entries, which is viewable online.
Physical inventory is taken on a regular basis dependent
on the type of warehouse. Results are compared to the
computer database information. When, and if, variances
are detected, standard operating procedures in reconciliation
functions are initiated in tandem with customer representatives
immediately. Inventory item location is predetermined
and designated upon item receipt at physical entry time.
This control function permits optimum inventory place
and location. Picking is conducted by order, and inventory
records are immediately adjusted. All this information
can be accessed on line, or linked to your corporate
information systems (enterprise resource planning) with
electronic data interchange.
Online Inventory
Nippon Express USA customers have real
time visibility to their products (assets) stored at
selected warehouses, order placement and distribution
tasks - all viewable from any Web browser. This capability
provides benefits beyond the fulfillment operations
going on in the warehouse. This online inventory information
provides actionable data on demand for specific products
that can be used to better plan production needs, inventory
location strategies and transportation schedules. Companies
use this online supply chain data to better meet strategic
business objectives, such as cost reduction or customer
service.
This online access to inventory information
and order execution event status reports allows Nippon
Express USA warehouse and distribution customers to
increase supply chain visibility, improve responsiveness,
compress planning times and increase customer service
levels. For example, armed with real-time inventory
information, you can:
- Streamline receiving and shipping to facilitate
cross docking and expedite back-ordered product
- Track every unit down to the lowest level of detail,
including country of origin, lot number, serial number
and date code
- Eliminate annual physical counts with regularly
scheduled cycle counting
- Improve accuracy and reliability of demand forecasts
- Decrease excess inventory levels and stock outs
