Nippon Express
USA's North American distribution network consists of
62 warehouses with a total of 3.9 million square feet
of space. Nippon Express USA will help you plan your
own network from among these facilities based on your
customer service requirements and your strategic business
requirements.
Nippon Express USA will also look at your
product characteristics, and what types of material
handling equipment will best support your products.
Whether your product handling requires standard material
handling devices or specialized equipment including
push-pull slip sheet lifts, flow racks, heavy lift cranes,
or other automated methods, Nippon Express USA has them
or it will acquire the material handling equipment you
need.
Besides looking at your warehousing needs
from a strategic networking point of view, Nippon Express
USA will consider which type of distribution center
arrangement will meet your customer service requirements,
inventory levels and budget. Nippon Express USA offers
several distribution options including the following:
Multi-user Distribution Centers
The most common distribution
need most importers have is to serve a national market
from a network of DCs that provides the right balance
of meeting high levels of perfect order fulfillment
and minimizing costs for inventory and warehousing.
Flexible-Use Distribution Centers
For maximum flexibility, users of Nippon Express USA's
multi-user warehouses can contract for a set amount
of storage and distribution space and service, and spread
it among a number of Nippon Express USA distribution
centers. The usage of each DC will periodically be adjusted
to have inventory exactly where you need it, when you
need it.
Contract Warehouses
Large importers with
special distribution and warehousing requirements,
as well as high-volume order throughput often need
facilities dedicated to their operations. Nippon Express
USA leases and operates such dedicated DCs for a number
of major companies. They have exactly the building
they want, configured to meet only their warehousing
needs and equipped with the material handling systems
designed to handle receipt, put-away, storage, retrieval,
order picking and shipping of their products. Inbound
and outbound transportation is planned and managed
to perfectly match their freight and order flows. These
customers also have the benefit of Nippon Express USA's
state of the art warehouse management systems. |
