Nippon Express USA has a subsidiary that is a licensed non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC). It makes available to its ocean shipping customers guaranteed cargo space that it reserves on ocean liners plying the key trade lanes serving the U.S.

Arrow International GNS
Nippon Express USA’s non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) division is called Arrow International GNS and licensed under the subsidiary name: Nippon Express U.S.A. (Illinois), Inc. Because of its legal status as an NVOCC, Arrow International GNS issues its own combined transport bill of lading.

For its North American customers, Arrow International GNS has two other brand names: Arrow Atlantic and Arrow Pacific. Both divisions provide FCL and LCL service, but Arrow International GNS excels at providing money-saving consolidation services for importers and exporters of LCL shipments. By grouping the LCL shipments of several customers into FCL quantities, Arrow International GNS is able to pass on the most favorable rates to the customer while offering a high frequency of sailings.

Other benefits and services from Arrow International GNS include:

Container Freight Stations
Container Freight Station (CFS) services that consolidate shipments into full containers in the exporting country, and deconsolidate in the importing country near the final destination. Containers inbound to the U.S. move expeditiously from the port entry to Nippon Express’s network of 32 Container Freight Stations located in key markets around the country. At these Nippon Express facilities, the containers are devanned, goods are cleared by Customs and individual shipments are staged for final delivery to designated destinations under Nippon Express control.

Cross Dock Operations
Cross Dock Operations are especially useful for import customers requiring rapid delivery of inbound Asia Pacific shipments going through Nippon Express USA’s Los Angeles CFS. Containers are devanned at the CFS in the port area, cleared of customs and transferred immediately to expedited motor carriers for rapid delivery.

Intra-Asia Shipping
Intra-Asia Ocean Service has become a critical service for the many U.S. companies outsourcing their manufacturing to China and other locations in Asia. Nippon Express offers rapid ocean shipping service for FCL and LCL shipments of materials and components from supplier locations directly to Asian manufacturing plants, and if required, directly to the production line.

Ocean Shipment Tracking
Ocean Shipment Tracking is built into all of Nippon Express USA’s ocean freight services. Arrow International GNS customers have access to the company’s online system that provides shipment-level visibility from origin to final destination.

Scheduled Sailings
Scheduled Sailings LCL consolidations enjoy weekly scheduled sailings between the U.S. and Asia Pacific from 21 U.S. cities to five points in Japan and 12 other points in Asia Pacific.
