Nippon Express
currently provides daily high-velocity cross docking
service from eighteen (18) points within the Asia Pacific region
to U.S. points via the Nippon Express Container Freight
Station (CFS) facilities in the Port of Los Angeles.
With five departures bound for the U.S. per week from
Tokyo, three departures per week from Osaka/Kobe, two
each from Nagoya and Hong Kong, and weekly service from
Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Port Kelang, Keelung, Pusan, Xiamen, Hochiminh, Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai and Singapore,
a steady flow of LCL shipments steam into the Los Angeles
Cross Dock CFS.
Upon consolidation overseas into FCL lots,
color-coded barcodes are affixed to each carton or pallet
of LCL freight, which serves to identify the destination
CFS for final delivery of the shipment. This helps to
speed the freight through Customs clearance and then
onwards through the cross-dock operation, where shipments
are staged for delivery via high-speed motor carrier
service with sleeper teams to the destination CFS.
An increasingly attractive DC-Bypass option
gives shippers the ability to have the freight moved
from the Los Angeles CFS cross-dock operation direct
to store locations or other end user sites via sleeper
team service, thereby eliminating additional interim
stops at CFS locations or retailer distribution centers
and shortening the supply chain.
This high-velocity supply chain offers
OEM and other manufacturers in Asia Pacific attractive
new rapid access to both new and established markets
in the U.S. and beyond while providing U.S. trading
companies with a high-speed supply chain alternative.
Whether seeking to meet unanticipated demand spikes
created by market forces or to obtain additional inventory
in time for planned product promotions or specialty
events, the high-velocity option gives shippers and
receivers an additional logistics tool to help maximize
the efficiency of the supply chain.
Throughout its journey,
each shipment moving within Nippon Express USA Arrow International GNS service can be tracked and traced through
its ocean tracking system. To smooth the movement of
shipments through customs clearance, customers can use
the Nippon Express Worldwide Information Network (NEWINS).
NEWINS facilitates the automatic classification and
summarization of invoice data into customs entries.
