March 01, 2010 — Nippon Express (India) Pvt. Ltd. ("NE India"; Krishna Murthy, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Masanori Kawai, President), last month moved its Bangalore Airport office to a newly expanded location.

NE India doubled the size of this airport terminal office, assigning nearly 50 personnel to carry out import/export procedures and customs clearance operations within the airport.

Although the office previously had numerous personnel engaged in import/export operations (dealing with airlines and customs officials) within the airport terminal, customs clearance documentation preparation and declaration procedures were handled at the Bangalore Branch's main office about 30km from the airport.

The expansion of the airport terminal office will enable all operations pertaining to import/export procedures to be carried out at this single location.

The expansion will also improve operational efficiency and cut the lead time from the start of import/export customs clearance procedures to authorization by about one day.

Taking advantage of the fact that NE India is the only Japanese forwarder in the country with its own customs clearance license, Nippon Express is now able to provide tailored services smoothly and to deal promptly with any irregularities that arise in India's complex and demanding customs clearance process.
